Fitchburg firefighters responded to the fire at a two-story home at 34 Maple Street on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 11, Fitchburg Fire said on Facebook

While the fire on the first two floors was knocked down within 15 minutes, crews had trouble getting to the attic of the home where the flames had also spread. It took another 15 minutes for firefighters to control that blaze, Fitchburg Fire continued.

No injuries were reported and the Red Cross was said to be helping those displaced by the fire. A GoFundMe has also been organized on the family's behalf.

"My mother in law Judy Fredenberg and her 3 kids lost everything in a house fire today in Fitchburg," the campaign reads. "Fortunately the kids were not home at the time of the fire. My mother in law was sleeping in the house and by the grace of God woke up and made it out alive. Unfortunately their family dog did not make it out and they have 3 cats missing."

The campaign had raised over $2,000 of its $5,000 goal as of Tuesday. People can donate by clicking here
